At CMETrust we believe every child should be able to go to school. We also believe that education empowers people to change their communities for the better. Yet, most children from Mathare, an informal settlement in Kenya, cannot afford to attend secondary school. This is why we partner with members of the Mathare community to advance education - one student at a time. Since 2006, CMETrust has supported more than 130 students in Mathare through secondary school scholarships.

We also provide workshops on leadership, learning, and service to our scholars during school holidays, and offer computer training to all of our graduates. Our alumni network is active and growing in Mathare, and all of our scholars are committed to giving back to their community. Our scholars, alumni, and supporters regularly undertake and participate in activities such as community clean-ups, tree-planting, and community walks to raise awareness about the importance of education.

CMETrust is a registered Canadian charity run by volunteers in Canada and Kenya. We collaborate with members of the Mathare community, especially our scholars and families. We believe in the importance of learning-by-doing, and we are accountable for what we do. We see the impact of our work every day in the power of educated young people to change their lives and their communities.
